EMPOWERING YOUNG
PEOPLE TO SPEAK THEIR MIND.

The Urban Youth Council is an opportunity for young people to engage in youth projects, programs, community, events and youth forums.

Participants are taught all aspects of project and community work, allowing them hands-on experience, while being mentored by experienced community leaders. The Urban Youth Council also offers a great opportunity for community and youth-minded individuals to meet each other and share common ground on issues important to them.

The program has provided youth with a platform where their voice can be heard, while also providing a practical understanding of how to implement change in their own communities. Participants have gone on to further study, and work, within the community and youth services.

Urban Youth Council program includes:

  • Ongoing support network

  • Workshops

  • Forums

  • Knowledge sharing

  • Introduction to Community work

  • Introduction to Youth Work
